NIHR conducts a visit to AlMetrouk Center for Rehabilitation Guidance

09 May 2024

In alignment with the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) mandate to protect and promote human rights, as granted by its establishment law, Dr. Huriya Abbas Hassan Children Rights Commissioner, together with Ms. Hala Ramzi Fayez, NIHR Commissioner, visited AlMetrouk Center for Rehabilitation Guidance. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the services offered by the center and those affiliated with it, to assess the overall conditions of the children and staff, to hear their observations, and to ensure their rights—guaranteed by national laws and international human rights standards—are being upheld.

During the visit, the delegation undertook a comprehensive inspection of the center’s facilities. It was observed that the center caters to individuals with cerebral palsy and physical disabilities, aged 3 to 18 years, and includes various classes that focus on nurturing and developing the children academically, physically, psychologically, and socially.

NIHR can be contacted through the toll-free hotline (80001144), the NIHR Bahrain mobile app, their website at www.nihr.org.bh, or by visiting the institution’s headquarters in person.
